This year looks to be an exciting one when it comes to bathroom and interior designs. With diverse new colours, finishes and materials emerging, we take a look at the top colour, finishes and material trends for 2015.
Back to nature
Natural materials dominated designs in 2014, and this will continue throughout this year. We’ll see even more of the magnificent wood, stone and leather themes we’ve embraced over the past months. Bringing a delightful warmth and style to any bathroom, these nature-inspired materials will overtake high-gloss finishes when it comes to must-have designs.
We’ll see the earthy tones of wood, stone and leather in everything from shower trays to worktops, tiles and furniture. And with the exquisite range of stone and wood-effect products available, this is a luxury anyone can enjoy – without the time-consuming and intricate care needed with the real thing.
While polished chrome remains a favourite, hot on its heels are classic luxury finishes, such as brushed nickel, oil-rubbed bronze, copper and brass. Contemporary bathrooms in 2015 will boast stylish matte and metallic finishes on all fixtures and lighting.
Bold is beautiful with statement patterns for tiles and wallpaper. Any size bathroom can host a feature piece, with the emergence of floor and wall tiles offering art, abstract prints and photographic imagery.
Bold, vibrant colours are breaking through this year, with jewel and fruit-inspired themes, such as lemon and tangerine, offering statement-making designs. Rich leather and marine, indigo and fashionable denim-blues will also be popular for 2015, and smoky greys and pastel shades will be seen beautifully complementing the on-trend natural materials. For crisp, classic sophistication, white will still hold its own.
